Our Programmes

Three Programmes for Three Different Needs

Whether you would like to sit in a group for four mornings, take a nine-week investing course, or have a private series of conversations about your household's picture โ€” there is a Pelangi programme shaped for that.

Our Methodology

How Pelangi Programmes Are Structured

Start from where you are

No programme assumes prior knowledge. The first session of any programme is designed to establish where each participant is starting from.

Build understanding in layers

Sessions are sequenced so that each builds on the one before, allowing participants to leave with a coherent picture rather than a collection of disconnected facts.

Leave with materials to return to

Printed handbooks and session summaries mean learning continues after the room is cleared โ€” without pressure to retain everything in the moment.

Open Verandah Money Talks group session

Programme 1

Open Verandah Money Talks

Four-Session Group ยท SGD 210 per participant

A four-session group for adults in their forties and fifties who would like to sit together for four Saturday mornings and work through the questions of household money in a calm, welcoming setting. The first session is a settling-in conversation. The second considers the household balance sheet and what it does and does not tell. The third is a quiet introduction to investing. The fourth covers protection, CPF and the longer arc of the household.

Sessions are held at a seminar villa with a garden view. Light refreshments and a printed handbook are included in the programme fee.

What the Programme Covers

  • Session 1: A settling-in conversation about money โ€” what you already know, what feels unclear
  • Session 2: The household balance sheet โ€” what it includes, what it misses, how to read it
  • Session 3: An introduction to investing โ€” categories, costs, and what calm long-term ownership looks like
  • Session 4: Protection, CPF, and the household over the next twenty years

Programme 2

The Rattan Investor Course

Nine-Week Course ยท SGD 490 per participant

A nine-week course for those who would like to learn enough about investing to manage a household portfolio in calm collaboration with their bank or broker. The course covers the categories of investments available to Singapore residents, the quiet matter of fees and costs over a long horizon, the place of index funds and exchange-traded funds in a household portfolio, the role of cash, Singapore Savings Bonds and SGS bonds as a steady floor, and the question of how a portfolio is best held and reviewed across the years.

Cohorts are small at fourteen, with two facilitators present in each session. Printed session notes are included.

Session Topics

1 The investment landscape in Singapore: what exists and why
2 Risk and time: what these words actually mean for a household
3 Equities โ€” what you are buying and why it has historically been worth holding
4 Index funds and ETFs โ€” the case for low-cost, broad ownership
5 Bonds, SGS and Singapore Savings Bonds โ€” the steady floor
6 The cost of investing โ€” fees, spreads, and what to look for
7 How a household portfolio is best structured and held
8 Reviewing a portfolio โ€” what to look at and how often
9 Questions, review and the path forward for each household

Programme 3

The Quiet Garden Track

Six-Session Bespoke Programme ยท SGD 730 per household

A six-session bespoke programme for households who would like a private series of conversations about their financial picture, conducted across roughly three months. The track is shaped by the household โ€” typical conversations include retirement planning, the matter of an ageing parent, the integration of a small business interest into the household picture, or the careful matter of bringing a spouse or adult child into a fuller understanding of the household's affairs.

Each session is held in a private seminar room and is accompanied by a short written summary. The programme is entirely confidential.

Topics Households Typically Explore

  • Retirement readiness โ€” what the household actually needs and what it has
  • An ageing parent's finances and how to approach the conversation
  • Integrating a small business interest into the household balance sheet
  • Bringing a spouse or partner into the financial picture
  • Planning for an adult child's education or property purchase
  • Understanding what the household's investments are actually doing
